I have been reflecting on the lessons of this passing year. In 2021
I learned the value of waiting upon the Lord, when I would have wanted to act fast.
I learned to trust Him when my emotions were creating havoc in my life. I learned to rely on Him when I had no strength to carry on.
I learned to be still in His presence when I was fretting and running in a thousand directions.
I learned to listen to His voice, instead of just talking.
Today, as I stand on the threshold of a fresh year, I believe God wants me to anchor my faith on the promise of Isaiah 43:13. It reads, “For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.” In 2022, I expect God to lead me by the hand. I believe God’s 2022 exhortation is “do not fear.” He proclaims that be will be my help. Chasing my own interests, living in fear, and doing it all by myself is so 2021.
A new day has arrived, with it is the promise of His will, His presence, and His strength. Do not fear!
